Przestrzeń Filmowa foundation and kino Muranów invite You to the first edition of the Warsaw Polish Cinema for Beginners - Warszawa - a series of meetings with the most interesting works of Polish cinema aimed at foreigners living in the capital: students, employees of companies.

This season - titled Polish Cities - will look closely at the landscapes, history and uniqueness of Polish cities.

Our film journey we will start from visiting modern Warsaw, captured by Jerzy Skolimowski in his intriguing “11 minutes”. Polish cinema rarely goes to Lublin but we will drop it a visit in “Carte Blanche”, a moving film by Jacek Lusiński, starring Andrzej Chyra. After that we will show Wroclaw in the 50’s in “Noose”, a Polish film school classic by Wojciech Jerzy Has. Finally one of the most talked about (and most expensive) films of the last decade - full of beauty and history of Poznań - “Influenz” by Łukasz Barczyk.

For closing we have chosen “The Promised Land” by the late Polish cinema master - Andrzej Wajda. Hailed as the best Polish film in history, it will show us the industrial traditions of Łódź.

Everything will be held in English, allowing all the residents of Warsaw, regardless of their nationality, to find out more about Polish culture, traditions and history. Our great guests: filmmakers and film experts, will be there to guide the audience through the corners of Polish cities and the charm of Polish cinema.

first invited guest will be Radosław Ochnio – sound engineer. Graduated from Sound Editing at the Wielkopolska School of Radio, Television and Film in Poznań and Łódź Film School. The winner of the European Film Awards in 2016 for Best European Sound Designer for sound in the film „11 minutes”. For many years he has worked on Polish films as a sound engineer. He has, among others, work on titles such as "Drawn from Memory" by Marcin Bortkiewicz, "End of the World" by Monika Pawluczuk, "Secrets of love" Krystian Matysek, "Little Crushes" by Ireneusz Grzyb and Aleksandra Gowin, "Baby Bump" and "The Erlprince" by Kuba Czekaj. Radosław Ochnio is also a teacher and lecturer.

The moderator of the festival will be the director Konrad Domaszewski.
