SHOE MAN MAX is one-man band from Ukraine who in his show, plays guitar, harmonica, foot tambourine and sings at the same time. He has been one of the best known and active figure in the roots music community throughout Ukraine for more than 20 years. In addition to his one-man band performances and being a band leader for several bands, Shoe Man Max ( known in Ukraine as Max Tavrichesky) is the organizer of the country’s only blues festival, now in its 10th year and he manages the oldest running blues jam in Kiev that regularly features American and European bluesmen. He has appeared on concert bills with Guy Davis, Eddie Martin and John Nemeth and has done projects with artists including Keith Dunn, Big Creek Slim,Robert Lighthouse, Will Jacobs, Daniel Jeanrenaud and Shanna Waterstown and all of them highly acclaimed Max's skills and true passion for the music. Shoe Man Max has the huge repertoire of more than 400 songs. He can adapt his sound and blues mood to any occasion whether it is a festival, club or concert hall. Besides his own compositions and blues classics by giants of Delta Blues, Chicago titans and rhythm-and-blues legends, you can hear surprising and rocking versions of songs by The Doors, Bob Dylan, JJ Cale,The Rolling Stones, Chris Rea, Dire Straits and other good-time music.
